Winter wedding flowers – how to – and think about the budget

Flowers
DIY wedding flowers in winter? Just say yes but THINK about the process x

Flower farmer and florist Georgie Newbery takes you through the process of making a teeny tiny wedding for her friends and neighbours at her village pub in Charlton Musgrove. With a visit to her tiny village church, St Stephen’s, Charlton Musgrove, from which the Haskell brothers left in the late 1600s to find a new life in America, Georgie shows you budget, time, thought, and little extras, and how what’s also happening in the village church on an every day basis, are worth considering when making flowers for a wedding.

The flowers in this clip are mostly from Cornwall and they are:

alstroemeria
paperwhite narcissi
ranunculus
tanacetum

and tulips from old Lincolnshire

The Cornish supply comes from BJ Richards just across the Tamar, and the tulips come from Smith and Munson in Lincolnshire.

The greenery is all grown and harvested at Common Farm Flowers in Somerset.

Enjoy – and be inspired – xxx and remember, if you’re not commissioning a florist to help with your wedding flowers you will still have to do all the work the florist would have, and if you are a florist be reassured, because your skill and knowledge and experience are worth their weight in gold.
