Wedding flowers prep – top tips for harvesting wedding flowers in the rain

Flowers
Life must go on, so while we mourn the death of that extraordinary woman Queen Elizabeth II, weddings already postponed through pandemic years must go ahead. So here is the prep for a gorgeous late summer wedding full of dahlias and hot colour and apples and amaranth. If I get the prep right the creation of the floral arrangements will go smoothly and relatively quickly. Let’s see how I do despite frequent bouts of lashing rain.

If you enjoy the tips and tricks Georgie gives you here, or would simply like to support the channel, the link to her Buy Me a Coffee page is Here: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/COMMONFARM

We have all kinds of wedding and floristry prep workshops listed on the website – have a look and book yourself the sessions which appeal to you.

If you’d like to join Georgie on any of her flower farming, floristry or small business workshops do have a look at the calendar here and book your place: https://www.commonfarmflowers.com/pages/workshop-calendar

We have a number of workshops that have a particular focus on the preparation and arrangement of wedding flowers, both online and here at the farm. Our 2023 dates are now live and you can see them here:

WEDDING FLOWER WORKSHOPS

To join Georgie at the farm in Somerset on her dahlia workshop on 28th September click here https://www.commonfarmflowers.com/collections/workshops/products/growing-dahlias-workshop

The online dahlia workshop in November has now sold out for ‘live’ places but if you’d like to buy the recording of the two hour session please email [email protected] and Nicola will let you know when it’s available to buy.

To join Georgie for her online sweet pea demo, which takes place on 14th September click here https://www.commonfarmflowers.com/products/sowing-sweet-peas-online-demo (if you can’t join live we send the recording afterwards for you to download and watch in your own time.)

If you’re booking a place on our workshops the website will ask you to choose a delivery date – any date will do! And if you can’t join our sessions live then you are still very welcome to book as we send the recording and notes of the workshop out to everyone afterwards, so you can download the session and refer back to it as and when you need to.
