A Million Moments – A #WhatAboutWeddings Campaign Film

Ideas

There are, in all our year’s, the occasions by which we measure the passing of time; birthdays, anniversaries, local events and celebrations.

These occasions help to highlight the progress we make as we wind our way through the years. They weave precious moments into our minds, creating memories that stay with us through the decades that follow. Our lives are made richer because of these moments.

But this year, as we all know, has been so different. We’ve all lost so many of those precious moments; children have lost their last days at school, festival goers and sports fans have lost the events they love and have looked forward to for months, and there are the millions of us who’ve had to cancel much anticipated days out, parties and fun things from our diaries.

We’ve felt for the families that have lost moments with each other, in good times and bad, and all those longed-for wedding days that lovers have lost in the midst of a global pandemic when, more than ever before in our lives, we need the love, family, celebration, hope and joy that these occasions offer.

Yesterday saw the British wedding season draw to a close. Today, we want to acknowledge this, and the millions of wedding-day moments that were missed this year. We hope this film shows why weddings are so very important in our lives and what they represent – what they say about us as humans and why we need them, more than ever, to look forward to…

Our ‘A Million Moments’ campaign film highlights what makes weddings the extraordinary and life-affirming events that they are. Weddings are milestone moments that can never be replicated.

We know only too well what the loss of these millions of moments means; lives and livelihoods have been impacted, futures have been put on hold and none of us have been able to turn to the next page in the stories of our own lives. The days and months have passed, but all those occasions that were going to be the defining moments in our years, haven’t happened. We’ve missed out on these memories this year. And couples, please know – we’ve missed helping you make these memories more than you could ever imagine possible.

Whether you’re a couple whose wedding has been impacted or a venue or wedding supplier –  if you’ve felt lost, heartbroken, forgotten or achingly sad for all those stolen moments this year, we truly hope that this film speaks to you – that ultimately, it uplifts you and reminds you of the joy of wedding days. We set out to create this campaign film to remind you that when all feels dark and hopeless, there is light out there – always. That these moments will be 100% worth the wait.
