Ideas

These lovely images were created in celebration of all that we might have taken for granted prior to the pandemic.

Submitted by Gemma Lander, founder of The White Emporium, whose words follow, the laidback nature of this editorial was inspired by escapism and being able to celebrate friendship and femininity in uncertain times.

We love that this editorial features dresses by our directory members, TH&TH.  TH&TH are providers of cool gowns for modern bridesmaids, whose dresses represent affordable luxury – and ladies, you can browse these beautifully feminine and flattering gowns online and order for delivery to anywhere in the world.

“We created two main styled areas, the first was a relaxed but elaborate picnic setup. The girls gathered round a sumptuous grazing platter created by The Gourmet Dinner Lady, filled with antipasti, fresh fruit and an over the top, attention grabbing cheese stack.

“What is a party without cake? One Part Love supplied elegant Victoria Sponge mini cakes, covered in a silky smooth Swiss Meringue Buttercream, crafted with a semi naked effect and adorned with fresh flowers.”

Accompanied by a large lemon and raspberry cake, filled with lemon and raspberry curd, fresh raspberries and decorated with a ruffle Swiss meringue buttercream.”

“The whole shoot took part within the wild meadow of Flowers at 58s flower farm, the colours of the flowers and the relaxed feel of the meadow were the dominant drivers for the colour scheme.”

“So a soft furnishings palette of neutral colours helped keep a clean and fresh feel. With scatter cushions, jute rugs and faux sheepskins. Nikkita Palmer Designs hair pin leg picnic tables provided a more modern edge to the picnic.”

“The flowers were all grown on site, their smell and vibrancy of colour were amazing.”

“A floral garland was created to sit below the food riser and mini bouquets decorated elegant place settings.”

“For the second setup we ran with the concept of pausing time amongst beauty. When you want to pause and rest to take a moment to slow the world down what better place to unwind than amongst the decadence of nature.”

“British flowers are show stoppers in their own right so we created a crescent full of huge Dinner Plate Dahlias and the girls relaxed on a blush velvet sofa.”

“Laura, Blessing and Jabou looked stunning in TH&TH dresses, their Grace and Luna tulle gowns were perfect for swirling around in, on a summer evening barefoot dancing under a fading light.”

“The girls carried posies of hand picked greenery and flowers, collected as they walked around the meadow.”

“Hair by Kim Sandford and Make-Up by Rosie Cerosio gave the girls an elegant but fierce look, this was about showcasing their natural beauty but also using makeup and hair as an expression that our spirits cannot be tamed.”

“Flowers at 58 perfectly filled the brief for statement jewellery and head pieces, Becky sculpted earrings and oversized crowns from real flowers that really encompassed the whole bold and dynamic feel of the shoot.”

“Victoria Mitchell Photography and Stacey Mae Photos captured the afternoon perfectly their use of light gave the shoot an uplifting and hopeful feel.”

“We are not weighed down by the current times we find ourselves in, more it portrays a positive vibe that love and friendship will always overcome.”
