WHAT’S A UNITY WEDDING CEREMONY?
A unity ceremony is a short part of your larger wedding ceremony (usually lasting 5-10 minutes) in which the officiant and the couple use symbols (such as candles or sand blending) to represent the joining of two people into one union.
Unity ceremonies are optional but many couples choose to include them because they add interesting symbolism and visuals to the event, and can be a great way of incorporating a couple’s cultural heritage and/or involving more family members and friends.
WHEN SHOULD YOU DO A UNITY CEREMONY?
You can add a unity ceremony at any point during your wedding ceremony but many couples choose to place it right before their vows.
