Ersa Bridal Glamour

Ideas

Wow, did you see Lily Collins wedding photographs this week? Public verdict on the dress appears to be split. I frankly adore it.

Give me all the high neck Edwardian glamour any day. This gown by Esra bridal, from London based boutique, Morgan Davis Bridal, is what I’m talking about; cinched waste and tulle volume in the skirt, cap sleeved and collar. Eva Tarnok both conceived of and photographed this editorial and her words follow. There is also a full detailed bridal beauty makeup breakdown, courtesy of makeup artist, Sanni Sorma.

“I got the idea of this shoot during the last lockdown, while I was working with and supporting many worried brides and grooms who had to deal with a huge amount of stress, anxiety and uncertainty.”

“I felt this was such a shame, as this time should be about excitement and anticipation and this wonderful experience has been taken from these couples.”

“I decided that once the restrictions are lifted, I will create a shoot capturing a sense of joy, freedom, beauty and timelessness.”

“For the location, our favourite family beach came into my mind immediately, as its lovely sand dunes creates a timeless canvas, and the sea gives a sense of freedom and boundlessness.”

“Our beautiful model, Faddie is originally from Singapore, and she ‘transformed’ the scene from the English seaside to a beach which could be anywhere in the world.”

Morgan Davis Bridal gave us a beautifully feminine wedding dress, Maia by my absolute favourite dress designer, Ersa Atelier.”

Sanni Sorma hair and make up artist created a look inspired by the freedom and joy of the beach. The feeling of sea air, the light and the colours. The model’s skin was dewy, fresh and with minimal foundation.”

“The skin was kept luminous with Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Highlighter and Balm Duo . The cheeks were lightly flushed with Glossier Cloud Paints – a custom mixture of a few shades. For the eyes, Sanni wanted to add a hint of the shimmering sea.”

“A modern take on light blue eyeshadow if you like. We used Pat McGrath’s Mothership III palette to achieve this pearly, light smoky eyes combining warm earthy tones with pearlescent blues.”

“Finally for the models hair, Sanni styled it wild and free ready for the windy beach shoot using different sized tongs and The Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray.”

“We started to shoot during the late afternoon and shot through the golden hour sunset light and the strong wind made the shoot so much fun and the model’s look very wild, organic & unstructured which I absolutely loved.”
