DIY Paper Dahlia Tutorial – My Wedding Backdrop Flowers

Flowers
The shape of each piece of paper is a rhombus-like shape cut from a 3″x3″ square. Your dahlia is going to be just gorgeous using squares so you do not need to create this shape (trust me, it’s faster too!).

*** I don’t know why this bothers me so much but the shape it’s not a TRUE rhombus, although I keep calling it one! A rhombus has equal sides, similar to a diamond. I should’ve probably said KITE shaped! ***

I use a shimmery cardstock called “Champagne Pearl” from Michaels – link here: https://www.michaels.com/champagne-pearl-paper-by-neenah-paper/10219035.html

The paper is PRICY per sheet unless on sale, but you can find a multi-pack with 50 sheets in it. However, the quality is NOT the same as the 12×12 sheet. Link here – https://www.michaels.com/champagne-pearl-paper-by-neenah-paper/10219035.html

Get a bone folder – I highly recommend it! Don’t forget to use a coupon if you’re buying it at the craft store. Link here – http://www.michaels.com/10242441.html#q=bone+folder&start=1
